ADHD COACHING & THERAPY for ADULTS

Whether you have been officially diagnosed as a child, or recently self-diagnosed as an adult, I will support you and work with you to recognize your strengths and soften your challenges.

I offer a mix of Talk Therapy (Psychotherapy), CBT techniques, DBT skills, Behavioural Coaching, Mindfulness, and practical tools.

CBT COACHING for ADULT ADHD


The coaching aspect of my service involves weekly or bi-weekly 30 minute Check-In Sessions for as long as you need it. I support how you feel, encourage further efforts, and cheer for your successes.


FORMAT

We generally begin with 1 to 3 x 60 minute sessions so I can get to know you and narrow down your needs and goals.

We then start 30 minute Check In Sessions for working on the practical skills and changes we have identified for as long as you want.

COMPONENTS

  1. PRACTICAL TOOLS – help executive function (ability to be organized, start and complete tasks etc.).
  2. CBT, MINDFULNESS & DBT SKILLS – help with emotional regulation (ability to withstand and decrease anxiety and stress).
  3. PSYCHOTHERAPY – helps with self-understanding (ability to understand your mindset, strengths, history).

CBT Coaching for Executive Functioning


I will help you implement tools and strategies that can improve executive functioning, making daily life feel more manageable.

Tips, techniques and tools to assist with:


  • Motivation (trouble initiating)

  • Organizational skills (losing and forgetting)

  • Planning and scheduling

  • Problem solving

  • Impulse control

  • Problems with time-estimation

  • Procrastination, avoidance
  • Difficulty completing tasks, especially boring, routine,
    non-gratifying tasks (e.g. bills, laundry, mail, taxes)

  • Difficulty stopping and shifting to a new task as appropriate

  • Lack of follow through on long-term projects, life goals
